Mom & I
This is an unfinished project. At first I thought I was portraying my mom's fight against cancer, but eventually, I realized it was about me and how I was coping, too. Documenting the pain from the perspective of the caregiver/family member, the hope that eventually fades and the anguish of the need for a pain-free ending. If it was already unbearable for me, I can't imagine for her. My mom passed away on June 30, 2022 at 3:30 am. A warrior worthy of the universe. That is why this project is not finished yet, I am not just referring to the nostalgia that seeing her photos causes me, but I have not portrayed her absence and how she continues to teach me lessons.
