Everyday life of a woman
Fonda Margarita was founded in the middle of the 20th century. It reflects the effort, the love and the passion of a mexican woman who trough cooking, evokes the spirit of culinary tradition. It all began two generations before, in the heart of a very well known neighborhood in Mexico City: “Colonia del Valle”. At first it was a discreet local, where, Margarita Lugo del Castillo prepared food for construction workers. With time, it grew a lot and became the famous Fonda Margarita. This project is an intimate portrait of the mexican women at their daily life and work; these pictures reflect the hard work of preserving traditional ways of cooking. And, also, an insight into other people´s lives in order to understand what they do and how it builds us as a society.
